Made from real wine bottles (and no, I didn’t drink them all) melted flat in the kiln. Once the bottle is flattened it’s painted, by hand, with enamel and then back into the kiln it goes. The enamel melts into the bottle at nearly 1500 degrees, unlike glass paint you’ll find at a craft store, which goes into a household oven causing the paint to harden on top of the glass. The result is a design that will not chip off the platter.
Since each one is handmade, one at a time from actual bottles, bottle shapes and colors and the painted design may vary from the photos. No two are exactly alike. But all meet strict quality standards with attention paid to every single detail.
Each set comes complete with a spreader that has a coordinating glass handle to compliment the melted bottle.
